Sacramento, California -- A leading pro-family organization in California is appalled that more than a dozen Republican state legislators have voted against natural family values. On June 22, there were 16 Republicans who joined with the majority of Democrats in two houses of the California State Legislature to approve pro-"Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender" resolutions.
"Why are Republican legislators voting for the unnatural, unhealthy, and tyrannical 'LGBT' agenda that goes against the good of children and families?" asked Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which promotes moral virtues for the common good. "It's expected that Democrats will vote against family values, but to see a raft of Republicans support the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda is unheard of."
Voting June 22 in favor of "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month" were 16 Republicans:
Voting "aye" on Senate Resolution 33: Anthony Cannella, Jeff Stone
Voting "aye" on House Resolution 24: Katcho Achadjian, Catharine Baker, Ling Ling Chang, Rocky Chávez, David Hadley, Matthew Harper, Young Kim, Tom Lackey, Eric Linder, Brian Maienschein, Devon Mathis, Chad Mayes, Marc Steinorth, Scott Wilk (all but Mathis also voted to become coauthors of HR 24)
"Do Republican legislators think pro-family voters will give them a pass for joining the Democrats in supporting the 'LGBT' agenda that's aggressively eliminating religious freedom and free speech in our land?" Thomasson asked. "It's completely hypocritical for someone like Assemblyman Chad Mayes of Yucca Valley, who calls himself a committed church-going Christian, to go against what God's word says against gender and sex."
"In California, the 'LGBT' agenda has done great damage to the people's vote on marriage, children in public schools, people's health, religious freedom, freedom of conscience, freedom of speech, and freedom of association," Thomasson said. "The intolerant ''LGBT' agenda should be opposed for the sake of liberty and love. What were these Republicans thinking when they voted against families and for sexual tyranny?"
